We are all aware about the much teased YU Yutopia which ‘was’ going to be launched on this 7th December following our previous post about the high-on-specs device. But to the utter dismay of many fans, Yu has delayed the launch of Yutopia to 17th December.
It is worth mentioning that the invites were already sent for the launch event and the delay from YU is a hardly made decision.
YU’s spokesperson informed in a media statement that the firm has, apart from Yutopia, another launch lined up which is to be scheduled near about. He further elaborated that the company didn’t want separate the launch events and thus shifted the launch date to 17th December.
However, some reports say that the company had to forcibly delay the launch due to a recent Delhi High Court order which had restricted YU from importing and selling devices that infringe upon Ericsson’s patents until it pays royalties to the Swedish firm.
Yutopia is a major leap which will push YU to upper levels of the smartphone industry, and the court story, if true, is a serious issue for the firm.
