Micromax subsidiary YU Televentures is well-known in India for its great quality yet affordable smartphones and wearables. YU is all set to launch its latest budget smartphone Yunique Plus in India. The Yu Yunique Plus is the successor of the YU Yunique which was launched back in September 2015. The Plus version offers various upgrades over its predecessors and is targeted towards the budget-end users.
The YU Yunique Plus sports a polycarbonate body and feels comfortable to hold in the hands. The device has a 4.7-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a pixel density of 312 ppi. It is powered by a snappy 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processors with each cores clocking at 1.2GHz coupled with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The 2GB RAM is an improvement over the 1GB RAM offered by its predecessor. The hardware under the hood can easily do most of the day-to-day tasks without any hiccups. The device offers a modest 8GB of internal storage but that shouldn’t be a problem as it can be easily expanded further up to 32 GB via microSD card.
In the camera department, the YU Yunique Plus features an 8MP primary rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. It can shoot up to 1080p videos and performs quite decently under good lighting conditions. There is a 2MP camera with f/2.4 aperture and 83-degree wide-angle lens on the front for selfies and video chat. The device offers dual-SIM functionality with 4G LTE support and packs a modest battery of 2,000 mAh. The Yunique Plus runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and you can flash various custom ROMs including the Cyanogen OS 12.1 if you wish to do so.
The YU Yunique Plus has been priced Rs 6,499 and will be soon made available in Black colour variant.
