Finally, Xiaomi has officially announced its Redmi 4 smartphone. In fact, the company has announced three different models of the mid-ranger handset – Xiaomi Redmi 4 Standard, Redmi 4A, and Redmi 4 Prime. All three models are targeted at different user groups.
Xiaomi Redmi 4 Standard
It sports a 5-inch IPS display with HD [720p] resolution and 2.5D glass. It is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 CPU along with Adreno 505 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage [expandable]. The new smartphone runs on MIUI 8 on top of Android Marshmallow OS.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 sports a 13MP rear camera with phase-detection auto-focus [PDAF] system and a dual-LED (not dual-tone) flash. It also features a 5MP front camera. The dual-SIM smartphone comes with Bluetooth 4.1 support, and an always-on fingerprint scanner at the back. It is backed by a 4,100 mAh battery.
The Redmi 4 is priced at CNY 699 [$104] in China and comes in Gold, Silver, and Dark Gray color options. It is already available for on pre-orders. Sales start from November 7.
Xiaomi Redmi 4A
The cheapest among the Redmi 4 series, sports an all-metal body. It sports a 5-inch IPS display with HD [720p] resolution. The new smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor along with Adreno 308 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB internal storage [expandable] and runs MIUI 8 on top of Android Marshmallow OS.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A sports a 13MP rear camera with a LED flash and a 5MP front camera. The dual-SIM smartphone is backed by a 3,120mAh battery. It comes in Gold and Rose Gold color options only. The Redmi 4A is priced at CNY 499 [$74] in China. Sales start from November 11.
Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime
The Redmi 4 Prime sports a 5-inch IPS display with full HD [1080p] resolution. It is powered by an octa-core 2.0GHz Snapdragon 625 processor along with Adreno 506 GPU, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB internal storage [expandable]. It sports a 13MP rear camera with phase-detection auto-focus [PDAF] system and a dual-tone dual-LED flash. Other features are mostly same as Redmi 4. However, network connectivity is enhanced by Full Netcom 3.0, compared to 2.0 version on other models.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime is priced at CNY 899 [$133] in China. It is already available for pre-orders. Sales start from November 7.
