Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime was announced in June this year. On Aug. 24, both models were made available for buying on Flipkart and MI.com. Even though Xiaomi did not use flash sale model to sell these phones, the limited stocks finished soon after the sale was launched.
The Redmi 3S smartphones are highly popular in India. Xiaomi had sold over 90,000 units of the Redmi 3S Prime in eight minutes, Indian Express reported.
On Aug. 31, Flipkart and MI.com will begin the sale of Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime at 12 PM. Since Xiaomi will not be using flash sale, limited units of both phones will be available for purchase. Hence, buyers are recommended to place an order soon or they may end up the chance of purchasing one of the hottest budget smartphones of the year.
Xiaomi Redmi 3S Specifications and Features
The Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime are same smartphones and they only differ in RAM and storage capacities. The Redmi 3S has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage whereas the Redmi 3S Prime has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. Both the phones support external storage of up to 128 GB.
It is a dual SIM smartphone with a hybrid SIM card slot. It means the second SIM slot can be used for a SIM card or a microSD card. When a microSD card is used in the second SIM slot, users will not be to be able to use second SIM card on the device.
The Redmi 3S features 5-inch HD screen that produces a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The Snapdragon 430 chipset with its 1.4 GHz octa-core powers the smartphones. It comes loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS and MIUI 8.
It has a single LED enabled 13-megapixel rear shooter and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Other specs include Wi-Fi, 4G, v4.1 Bluetooth, aGPS, FM Radio and micro USB v2.0. It has a humungous battery of 4,100 mAh that is coupled with fast charging feature.
The Redmi Note 3 is one of the bestselling smartphones from Xiaomi. Since the Redmi 3S is its smaller version, it also features a metal unibody design.

The Redmi 3S is priced at 6,999 on Flipkart and MI.com at 12 PM tomorrow. The Redmi 3S Prime can be purchased for Rs. 8,999 from both the sites. The smartphones are available in colors like dark gray, gold and silver.
Xiaomi is also speculated to be working on Redmi 4S. Since the Redmi Note 4 has been unveiled in China, it is speculated that the Redmi 4S will be announced soon.
