Xiaomi has become a household name in India, thanks to its feature-rich yet affordable and reliable smartphones. The Chinese smartphone maker is very soon going to launch one of its ultra-affordable budget smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 3S in the Indian market. Various reports have pinned down the launch date as 3rd August.
The Redmi 3S was launched in China a month back and can be considered as a slightly enhanced version of the Redmi 3 with some great additional features including a fingerprint sensor on the rear. Interestingly, Xiaomi is yet to launch the Redmi 3 in the Indian market and it seems highly unlikely that it would do so in the near future.
The specs of the Indian variant of the Redmi 3S hasn’t been announced yet but we expect it to be somewhat similar to its Chinese sibling. The device sports a 5-inch HD display and is powered by the latest 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. The device comes in two memory configurations of 16GB ROM/2GB RAM and 32GB ROM/3GB RAM. In the camera department, there is a 13MP primary rear shooter and a 5MP secondary front-facing camera.
But there are high chances that the Indian version of the Redmi 3S may be launched with somewhat different specs. As far as the pricing is concerned, the 2GB RAM/16GB ROM version costs USD 108 (around Rs 7,200), while the 3GB RAM/32GB ROM variant costs USD 138 (Rs. 9,200) in China and we expect a somewhat similar pricing for the Indian market too. Xiaomi very well knows that the pricing of this device will be the most crucial factor in determining the success or failure of this device. The Redmi 3S is launching very soon, till then, stay tuned.
