Android users are eagerly waiting for the latest Android Update. OEMs are yet to roll out the new update to most devices. Xiaomi is yet to announce the Android 7.0 Nougat update to its popular devices. While the Chinese giant is yet to announce an official list of devices getting the new update, a new leak confirms Xiaomi is getting ready to announce the new update pretty soon.

Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi Max, Redmi Note 4 To Get Android 7.0 Nougat Update

The new leak appeared on Weibo, showing a screenshot of the Xiaomi’s operating system MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. This means that the new firmware update might soon be rolled out to the company’s latest handsets.

Xiaomi is yet to officially confirm anything but reports claim that the new update might reach Xiaomi handsets this year itself. The Mi 5, Mi Max and Note 4 are expected to be the first to get the latest OS. The complete process is likely to bleed into the second half of 2017. The list of eligible devices is expected to include the Redmi Pro, Redmi Note 3, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 3s, Redmi 3A, Mi Max, Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, Mi Pad 2, Mi 4s, Mi 4c and Mi 4i.

Certain devices such as the Xiaomi Mi 2, Mi 2S, Mi 3 and Mi 4 are not compatible with processing requirements of the Android 7.0 Nougat’s Vulcan API, which means these devices will not be getting the firmware update.

The Android 7.0 Nougat has been rolled out for Google devices including the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and Android One. The new OS comes with several improvements like multi-window, direct reply notifications, extra power efficiency, Google Assistant, and VR interface. Other features include seamless updates, screen zoom, clear all, data saver, improved file browser, instant apps, app switch, bundled notifications, improved Java 8 language support, and new emojis.
