Since the launch of the Xiaomi Mi5, it looks like Xiaomi is getting really serious about competing with the big brands. The Mi5 is a great budget flagship smartphone that looks and feels premium and doesn’t look like a cheap rip-off. Xiaomi put a great effort into building the phone, and now the company wants to keep upping its quality.
Just some days back, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro was launched, and it’s the first phone from Xiaomi to get dual cameras. The company also ventured into the notebook market with its new Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air, giving a serious competition to the MacBook but on a more budget-oriented level. It is now being said that the manufacturer will release the Xiaomi Mi5s soon.
However, more than the Mi5s, fans are eagerly waiting for the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. The original Mi Note is in dire need of a major upgrade, and if the latest rumors and leaks are to be believed, then the Mi Note 2 will be released soon. So let’s go through all the details we know about the phone.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Specs and Features
Let’s talk about the size of the phone first. The “Note” word in the name of the device itself tells us that the Mi Note 2 is going to be a phablet and not your regular 5-incher device. Rumors say that the phone will come with a 5.7-inch Quad HD screen. It is being said that the 2K screen will be a pressure-sensitive Force Touch display, something that even the Galaxy Note 7 does not have.
Also, now that Xiaomi has switched to OLED displays with the Redmi Pro, we are sure that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will have an AMOLED screen. It is being speculated that the screen will be a dual-curved display, just like Samsung’s latest Galaxy Note 7 phablet. So yes, we expect a killer design to go with such a killer display.
Coming to the specs of the device, rumors suggest that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will have three variants. The first one will feature 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage with a normal Full HD display and a single rear camera (possibly 16MP). The second version will come with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and may come with Force Touch display. The last variant will get 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, dual curved Edge display, and dual cameras.
Apart from that, the Mi Note 2 is expected to come with Snapdragon 821, a 4000mAh battery supporting Quick Charge 3.0, NFC, Hi-Fi Audio, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, etc.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Price
According to previous leaks, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will cost CNY 2,499 ($376) for the 4GB/32GB version and CNY 2,999 ($451) for the 6GB/64GB variant. Enthusiasts will have to shell out CNY 3,499 ($526) for the top 6GB/128GB Edge variant. If these figures are true, then the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be the first device to offer 6GB RAM and also the most expensive Xiaomi phone ever.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Release Date
Latest reports suggest that Xiaomi might launch the Mi Note 2 in October 2016. The Xiaomi Mi5s may also get launched at the same time.
But of course, we suggest you take the above information with a pinch of salt as Xiaomi itself hasn’t confirmed anything officially. Anyway, we will keep you updated with the latest information about the device. So keep checking back.
