With the release date just around the corner, the rumor mill has started working hard and fast on the Xiaomi Mi 6. Most of the primary specifications have already leaked in the past few weeks, and now, a new leak concerning the camera has surfaced over the internet.
According to the latest rumor, the next flagship offering from the Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi, will feature Sony IMX400 sensor announced recently. This contradicts an earlier report of Sony IMX386 sensor running the show. As for the release date is concerned, most claims point to an April 14 unveiling for the Mi 6. It does fall in line with the last year release of Mi 5, which was announced in February before being released in April.
Xiaomi Mi 6 Specifications and Price
As far as other specifications are concerned, Mi 6 is rumored to come in two variants – one being a 5.15-Inch device and the other being a 5.7-Inch offering with a dual-camera setup like the iPhone 7 Plus. Underneath the hood, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset will be in charge, alongside 4 Gigs of RAM. Internal storage will be well covered with 128 GB. All this will be a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support. The handset will boot Android Nougat 7 out of the box with MIUI skin on top.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to be priced around ¥2,999 (around $364 / €340 / Rs.24,742). Xiaomi might announce a cheaper offering with MediaTek Helio X30 chipset. However, all this still remain a rumor. The Chinese OEM is yet to comment on its upcoming flagship. Hence, we suggest you take all this information with a pinch of salt.
In any case, it will be interesting to see what the Chinese powerhouse comes with to compete with the like of OnePlus 3T and Samsung Galaxy A Series. Last year, wasn’t as satisfactory as Xiaomi would have liked with its flagship offering.
