Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to get unveiled through a launch on Sept. 27. It will be enhanced edition of Xiaomi Mi 5. Here is a comparison between the two smartphone on the basis of their specs, price and release date.
Design and Display
The Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to sport a design similar to Xiaomi Mi 5. A recently leaked photo of the rear panel of Xiaomi Mi 5s has revealed that it will be made out of glass and it will also feature a metallic frame.
Like Mi 5, the Mi 5s will also sport a 5.15-inch full HD display. Rumors suggest that Mi 5s will have a pressure-sensitive screen that will function like the 3D Touch feature on iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
Chipset, RAM and Storage
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC whereas its enhanced version is expected to be fueled by Snapdragon 821 chipset. The two 3 GB RAM variants feature 32 GB and 64 GB of storage. The 4 GB RAM model has 128 GB of storage. It does not feature a microSD card slot.
On the other hand, the Mi 5s is pegged to arrive in three models. The 3 GB, 4 GB and 6 GB RAM variants of Xiaomi Mi 5s are expected to come with respective storage options like 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. Like Mi 5, it is unlikely to feature a microSD card.
Camera, Software Other Features
There is a 16-megapixel camera on the rear side of Mi 5. It is enabled with features like 4-axis OIS and dual-LED flash. The Mi 5s is also rumored to feature the same rear camera. There is a 4-megapixel selfie camera. The Mi 5s is expected to come with a 13-megapixel shooter.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8.0 is expected to power up Xiaomi Mi 5s. The Mi 5 is also running on the same OS and UI software. The Mi 5 has a fingerprint scanner and a USB Type-C port. On the other side, the Mi 5s will also feature a USB Type-C and is pegged to arrive with an ultrasonic fingerprint reader.
Battery and Price
The Xiaomi Mi 5 has a 3,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. The Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to arrive with a massive battery of 3,940 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
In August, Xiaomi slashed the price of Mi 5 from Rs 24,999 to Rs 22,999, NDTV reported. As far as Xiaomi Mi 5s price is concerned, it is expected to cost around Rs 24,99 to Rs. 27,999.
