Xiaomi is fastly becoming a popular name across the world. The smartphone manufacturer has been shelling out phones in each category and giving tough competition to already established names. The latest product to come out of Chinese OEM factory will be Xiaomi Mi 5C. First, it will be released in the home market, and later in other regions.
Android Pure reported that Xiaomi Mi 5C will be launched in China next week at a dedicated event, most probably December 6, 2016. Earlier there were reports of 12th December launch but it seems the company has pulled it a week earlier.
Xiaomi Mi 5C is tipped carry a price tag of just CNY 1,000 ($145). Still, the official release date will have the final say in this matter.
Design-wise, the leaked images indicate a very well designed with a sleek frame having round edges. Just like the Mi 5, the fingerprint scanner is built into the home button on the front.
You will have the volume rockers and power button on the right with camera module placed on the top right edge at the back. Speaker grill can be found on the bottom with Mi logo above. There will be three color variants of Rose Gold, Gold, and Black.
As far as specs are concerned, the smartphone is expected to house a 5.5-inch Full HD display powered by 2.2 GHz Octa-core processor and 3 Gigs of RAM. Internal storage of Mi 5c will stand at 64 GB. Camera department of Xiaomi Mi 5c will comprise of 12 MP rear and 8 MP front shooter.
On the software side, Mi 5C will come with MIUI 8 out of the box on top of Android Marshmallow. The handset will also support NFC-based payments. Overall it’s a great phone at a great value.
