Xiaomi has attained global popularity and success in a short time, thanks to its smartphones that carry high-end specs at low-end prices. Xiaomi flagships are worth waiting for, and something tells us that the wait for the next Xiaomi flagship won’t be that long. Pan Jiutang, an analyst in the electronic industry, had predicted earlier this year that the Xiaomi Mi 5 would be the first smartphone to get Qualcomm’s upcoming top-of-the-line Snapdragon 820 chipset. Mr. Juitang stated that the new chipset would be shipped in December to the smartphone manufacturers and the phones would begin releasing in March. However, the analyst has changed his statement and now says that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will see light of the day in December this year.

Leaked Xiaomi Mi 5 Specs by Tipster @Leaksfly

It has been more than a year since the Xiaomi Mi4 was launched, and since then, the news of the next flagship hasn’t picked up much pace. The Xiaomi Mi 5 previously appeared on AnTuTu benchmark scoring an astonishing 73,075, which confirms that it is driven by the Snapdragon 820 chip. Meanwhile, tipster @Leaksfly has posted some rumored specs of the Xiaomi Mi 5 and says that the phone might get a 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 display. Powering the phone will be a Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with a Kryo quad-core CPU and Adreno 530 GPU. The amount of RAM is a class-leading 4GB, while internal storage can be the plain old 16GB/32GB. A 16MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint sensor, Type-C USB, and Android 5.1.1 are amongst the other rumored specs of the device.

We also expect Xiaomi to launch the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 around the same time as the release of the Xiaomi Mi 5. The Mi Note 2 will be similar to the Mi 5 in specifications, but will get a bigger 5.7-inch QHD screen and better rear camera. Come on Xiaomi, surprise us!
