Xiaomi has recently launched the Xiaomi Redmi 3 budget smartphone in China, and the phone is all set to rock the $100 segment. However, all the eyes are set on the company’s next flagship, which is the Xiaomi Mi 5. The phone has been in rumors for a long time now, and a lot of specs have already been revealed by leaks and benchmarks. The phone is expected to be unveiled on 21st January, which is just a week away.
But in a very surprising move, online retail website already put the Xiaomi Mi 5 on listing along with all its specs. Of course, the page was take down after a few hours, but the specs and details were leaked out till then. Here’s what we have found out from the GearBest listing of the Mi 5 so far.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with such hardware specs that places it in the market as the budget competitor to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7. The Mi 5 is supposed to get a 5.2-inch QHD screen with a whopping 565ppi of pixel density. The phone will run Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with MIUI 7 on top, and we hope a Marshmallow update comes out soon. Under the hood will be Qualcomm’s best-till-date Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM.
The GearBest listing stated the onboard storage as 16GB, but we’re sure there will be a 64GB option as well. The Mi 5 will come with a 16MP rear camera with dual-LED (possibly dual-tone) flash and an 8MP front-facing camera. The phone packs a 3,600mAh battery, and the LTE-enabled phone gets dual SIM slots.
The specs mentioned on GearBest’s listing are similar to those leaked earlier, and with such hardware, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is sure to rock the flagship segment for sure. The phone is going to be launched soon, but the price is unknown yet.
