Xiaomi has been keeping its lips tight when asked about its upcoming flagship, the Xioami Mi 5. However, that hasn’t stopped leakers from releasing images of the Mi 5 on the internet. It was just yesterday when we showed you some leaked renders of the phone. However, not even a day later, some real life pics of the phone have been posted on Weibo.

As seen in the new images, the Xiaomi Mi 5 looks almost the same as in the previous renders. There are the same thin bezels and the Home button, which will also double up as the fingerprint reader. No other part of the phone is visible in the new images, but we are sure that this is the final design.

Along with these new images, a patent application for the fingerprint scanner used in the phone is leaked out. As far as we can understand, the scanner is embedded within the display, suggesting that it is the rumored ultrasonic fingerprint scanner that is supported by Snapdragon 820.

However, in the patent application, the sketched phone does not get a home button whereas it does in the new pictures. This means that the ultrasonic sensor is reserved for probably the next flagship and the Mi 5 will be getting the fingerprint sensor within the Home button.

Even the design patent of the Xiaomi Mi 5 has been leaked out, and you can view all the leaked images of today in the slides below.
