Xiaomi Mi 5 is the current flagship in the Mi series; the device went official earlier this year, and now an online retailer is selling a modified variant of the Xiaomi Mi 5, they are calling it the Extreme Edition and it features an overclocked CPU, GPU, and RAM. However, other specifications of the Mi 5 do remain the same.
A Chinese retailer, GOME is selling this model online. The extreme model comes with a 2.15GHz CPU from 1.8GHz, GPU overclocked to 624MHz from 510MHz and overclocked RAM at 1866MHz from 1333MHz. To remind you, let’s check out the specifications of the Xiaomi Mi 5 once again.
The Mi 5 sports a 5.2-inches Full HD (1920 X 1080) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 2.15GHz Quad-Core 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It packs 3GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB internal storage. It runs on MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box.
Talking about the camera, the device features a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus, 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization and it can also record 4K videos at 15 frames per second. On the front, it has a 4-megapixel Ultra pixel camera for selfies and video calls.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 rocks a fingerprint sensor on the home button for extra device security. Connectivity features include 4G LTE with VoLTE, Dual SIM, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port. A 3,000mAh non-removable battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support is on board.
