AMD Radeon RX 480 is going to be launched today on 29th June and it is being said that rebranded versions of the card will be launched by AMD partners today. These rebranded GPUs will be slightly overclocked, and XFX is the first AMD partner carrying factory overclocked graphics cards.
The XFX RX 480 Black Edition OC will get a cool black backplate and will get a factory overclock to 1328 MHz. The XFX Black Edition will get a a factory overclock to 1288 MHz. Three different variants of the XFX RX 480 will be seen at the launch, including a standard reference design, a Black Edition, and a Black Edition OC.
Overclocking is what most of the users want, and thankfully, AMD has got lots and lots of cards in stock so that everyone can buy one. Other vendors will be releasing their reference design cards also and we will soon see custom RX 480 cards coming out. Custom models are always in demand, but the original reference ones will truly break the sales records.
Meanwhile, there are reports that overclocking RX 480 to 1.4GHz isn’t possible. It is also being expected that the AMD Radeon RX 490 will be unveiled at today’s event. We don’t have any other info on that, but the card has been spotted on AMD’s site, so a launch should be imminent.
