Microsoft started rolling out Windows 10 Build 14383 yesterday for insiders on the fast ring. This takes the company one step closer to the launch of big Anniversary(Redstone) update due on 2nd August.
Dona Sarkar, the head of Windows Insider program has confirmed this in the original announcement that Microsoft is in final stages of development before compiling the RTM build of the Anniversary Update (also known as the first wave of Redstone, or Redstone 1). Due to this very reason, you won’t see any watermark on this particular build.
Though we are in final stages of getting the Redstone build, more builds can be expected on the way till 2nd August as the company keeps refining the operating system.
“We’re beginning to check in final code in preparation for releasing the Windows 10 Anniversary Update to customers on August 2nd. But we’re not finished yet and will have more builds to release to Windows Insiders between now and then. Remember you guys play a big role in helping us decide which are the final *final* bits that we ship globally,” she said.
Also, Build 14383 should not be deemed as release candidates for the Anniversary Update, even though it feels smooth and lag free as Microsoft is focused in fishing out bugs with every new release every week.
Windows Insiders will be the first batch of users getting the RTM build for Anniversary update, with retail users getting their share on 2nd August. As to which build will it be? Microsoft will decide it on users feedback.
