The Voice Season 13 premieres this fall and the coaches for the new season are now announced. Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Miley Cyrus will return without Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani. Instead, Jennifer Hudson is the new judge joining the reality show.
‘You Don’t Know My Name’ singer seems to be aware that The Voice Season 12 is going to be the last one for her. A few days ago in an interview, she was asked whether she will continue in the next season of the reality show. To which she replied, “This is my last season” she also added, “Who knows what the future holds, but I know this one is my final season,” reported TV Insider.
In that same interview, Stefani had expressed her desire to return to the show as the judge. She said, “I don’t know anything yet. I would be open to continuing; I love it.” Their response had sent off speculations rife that perhaps Keys and Stefani will not return for The Voice Season 13. And the latest reports in media confirm that Jennifer Hudson joins Miley Cyrus as the judge alongside Shelton and Levine.
Why Are Keys And Stefani Not Returning?
The exact reason why they are dropped from The Voice has not been revealed. In the ongoing season, Keys still has two powerful contestants, Chris Blue and Vanessa Ferguson in the race. The latter was recently saved by Instant Save method after reaching the bottom two. While Coach Stefani has Brennley Brown and Hunter Plake in her team still going strong.
Jennifer Hudson As Coach On The Voice Season 13
Hudson is not new to the format of reality singing shows. She has been a contestant on American Idol Season 3 and rose to fame with her excellent singing. Hudson has served as a coach for the UK version of The Voice before and is a passionate fan of the show reports TV Series Finale.
Meanwhile, the upcoming week will see the semifinals of The Voice Season 12. The last week’s elimination said goodbye to contestants Mark Isaiah and Lilli Passero.
