Vivo has been trying to make its stronghold in the Indian smartphone market. It has been clearly evident from its recent actions like that of becoming the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League. Vivo today launched its two smartphones, Vivo V3 and V3 Max in India, even prior to the release of these devices in China, which shows the importance of the Indian smartphone market in the eyes of this Chinese smartphone manufacturer.
The Vivo V3 sports a 720p 5-inch display and is powered by the Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. On the other hand, the V3 Max sports a bigger FHD 5.5-inch display with 2.5D curved Gorilla glass. It is powered by the more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset and has a larger 4GB of RAM. The V3 packs a 2550mAh battery while the V3 Max packs a larger 3000mAh battery with fast charging feature.
Both these devices offer an internal storage of 32GB which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. Both the V3 and V3 Max support 4G LTE and have dual-SIM functionality. These devices run on Funtouch OS 2.5 based on Android 5.1 (Lollipop).
On the camera front, both of these smartphones sport a 13MP rear shooter with LED Flash and PDAF and an 8MP secondary camera. Both these devices also flaunt fingerprint sensors at the rear, which can unlock the device in just 0.2 seconds normally or in 0.5 seconds when the device is in sleep mode. These devices also have the AK4375 audio chip for an enriched audio experience.
The Vivo V3 has been priced at Rs. 17,980 while the V3 Max carries a price tag of Rs. 23,980. Commenting on the release of these devices, Alex Feng, CEO of Vivo India said:
