Well, let’s admit it: given a choice, we would all want to have as many Jio SIMs as possible. Who would want to miss the opportunity of unlimited free 4G data, unlimited voice calls, and SMS? It turns out that blatant misuse of Jio SIMs has prompted Reliance to bring in what it sees as a measure to control the number of SIMs owned by a person. It is now mandatory for you to generate a barcode – unique to your device IMEI number – to obtain a Reliance Jio 4G SIM.
Most Reliance Jio SIM outlets have made it mandatory to produce the barcode generated using MyJio app. To generate the barcode all you need to do is download the MyJio app from Playstore or Apple iTunes and tap on “Get Jio SIM”. This sounds really simple, but sometimes, you may not see the barcode in spite of the fact that –
a) you have a phone that’s 4G compatible and supports VoLTE and;
b) you have followed the steps of downloading the JioApp and tapping on Get Jio SIM option correctly.
The problem most often lies in the fact that the latest MyJio app doesn’t simply recognize your phone – specifically, the app fails to detect the device ID. So whenever you try to generate the code, you fail to get the barcode.
How To Generate Barcode [Fix]
The only way to generate the barcode on your phone is to use the previous version of the MyJio App. Just google for an older version of MyJio APK and you should find many links that host this APK.
1. Open the MyJio app after installing the older version. Download all the 10 Jio apps that you see after opening the app.
2. Once you have downloaded all these apps, disconnect your device from WiFi and/or data. Now, click on Get Free Jio SIM.
3. Switch on Wi-Fi or data. The app should automatically show you the availability in the location.
4. Now tap on “Agree and Get Jio Offer“.
Now you should be able to generate the barcode. After you get the barcode, visit the nearest Jio SIM outlet and get the SIM before the barcode expires.
Note: Download the old version at your own risk. MobiPicker has chosen to not post the links for these APKs, since the authenticity and security of older versions of APKs not available on Play store cannot be verified.
