The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD came out earlier this month and brought the Zelda classic to the Wii U. A recent interview by Famitsu has revealed new information on the title, including the lack of Wiimote motion controls, as well as how the game might tie into the upcoming The Legend of Zelda Wii U game.

According to the interview, the developers were indeed adding Wii Remote-based waggle controls for Twilight Princess HD, but this was scrapped midway through development. The team ended up focusing on the Wii U GamePad and the Wii U Pro Controller instead. Of course, motion controls are not entirely gone, seeing as the GamePad’s gyroscope is used for aiming with the bow. What this tells us is that it is unlikely The Legend of Zelda Wii U will feature motion controls.

The interview also talks about the Wolf Link Amiibo, which comes bundled with the physical release of the game and unlocks a dungeon in the game. The Amiibo will apparently work with the upcoming Zelda Wii U game, but there are no details on how exactly this will happen. Aonuma teases, “For some people, when they play the new title, they might feel the urge to play Twilight Princess HD one more time.”

That certainly sounds interesting. Will Wolf Link make a return in The Legend of Zelda Wii U?
