McFarlane Toys, a toy company that’s partnering with Respawn Entertainment to make Titanfall 2 toys, has accidentally let it slip that the game (and the toys) will be coming out in Winter 2016. This matches up with what we’ve previously heard about the game coming out in fiscal year 2016.

Titanfall

EA was quick to jump on this, however, and sent Polygon an e-mail saying that they’ve yet to provide a release date for “the next Titanfall experience from Respawn”. Of course, that does not say anything contradictory to the press release by McFarlane Toys. EA even goes to confirm that McFarlane Toys will indeed be releasing toys inspired by Titanfall in Winter 2016.

Details about Titanfall 2 have been trickling in over the past few weeks, and we learned not too long ago that the game will have its own dedicated singleplayer campaign. It would be interesting to see what kind of singleplayer campaign is in the offing here: will it be free and open like the multiplayer aspect of the franchise, or, considering the developer’s Call of Duty pedigree, will it be a tightly-scripted, pop-the-weasel shootfest?

We expect Titanfall 2 to be revealed later this year, perhaps at E3.
