According to a fresh leak, The Legend of Zelda Wii U will be releasing in Holiday 2016 and also be coming to the NX. Both versions of the game will launch either on the same day, or with a short gap between them, the source says.
This leak comes from NeoGAF, from user Trevelyan9999, who claims to have an insider source with Nintendo. In his post, Trevelyan9999 posts details on upcoming 3DS releases, but also lets loose the crucial bit of info that The Legend of Zelda Wii U will in fact, be coming out for the NX and that both versions of the game are scheduled for a Holiday 2016 release. This also confirms that, yes, the Nintendo NX is coming out around November or December 2016.
This would not be entirely unprecedented for Nintendo, as they previously released The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess within a short gap for the Wii and GameCube. The game released on both consoles within a month, back in 2006 (which, appropriately enough, was 10 years ago). It seems Nintendo is doing a repeat of that this time around.
Further info from the leak reveals that the game has a $10 million marketing budget for the Wii U version of the game, almost 1/3rd of the Wii U’s total marketing budget for the year.
NeoGAF’s moderators have apparently confirmed the source, so the leak itself looks real. We’ll just have to wait and see if the information presented remains accurate. I’d advise you to take this with a grain of salt, but it’s looking mighty legit right now.
