If you’re looking to use cheats on the PC version of The Division, you’d best beware. Ubisoft Massive has announced that following the upcoming free update for the game, they will take action on anyone found using cheats. While the warning presumably extends to the console versions of the game too, Ubisoft has found that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game are relatively problem-free, when it comes to cheating.
Once the free update 1.1 drops, players can report cheating by typing /report [NAME], which will flag that account for manual review by the team. If the complaint is found valid, a three day suspension will be handed out, with a second chance for the offender. If the player cheats again, a permanent ban will be dished out to them. Considering The Division is an online-only game, this would effectively mean being locked out of your purchase.
Manual reviews will also weed out false reports, and Ubisoft Massive agrees that community reports and automatic flags are not ideal, but will be used until a “better solution” is developed to find offending players.
