The Tata Tigor subcompact sedan has finally been launched in India. The new sub 4-meter sedan comes in both petrol and diesel engine variants and sports a manual 5-speed gearbox. There is no automatic variant as of yet.
Those interested can book any Tata Tigor variant via authorized showroom across India by paying the booking amount of Rs 5,000.
At its current price-range, the new vehicle will be locking horns with the likes of the Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Ford Aspire, and Hyundai Xcent.

As you can see above, the Tigor gives you a petrol and a diesel engine to choose from. The petrol variant is a 1.2 liter, three-cylinder motor that delivers 84 bhp of peak power and 114 Nm of peak torque. The diesel variant, meanwhile, is a 1.05 liter, three-cylinder turbocharged motor that can yield an output of 69 bhp peak power and 140 Nm of torque. Although both variants currently only has the 5-speed manual gearbox option to offer, TATA is likely to introduce a petrol AMT variant soon.
On the inside, the Tigor sports a touchscreen center console with mirror link abilities. Although, it’s a shame that the car didn’t get Android Auto or Apple CarPlay that could have further added to the charm and practicality.
The top specs variant of the Tigor has a color coded AC vents much akin to the Tiago. The rear seat, meanwhile, seems spacious enough to leave you plenty of leg and shoulder room. But, that’s not to say that the taller passengers won’t find the sloping roofline somewhat problematic.
Tata Tigor Price
The base model of the Tata Tigor petrol is priced at Rs 4.8 lakh with the top variant going all the way up to Rs 6.3 lakh (all-prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The diesel variant is a bit more expensive; the base model is priced at Rs 5.70 lakh and the top-spec variant is available at Rs 7.2 lakh at ex-showroom, Delhi.
