Huawei recently announced their latest flagship smartphones Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. This has been a pretty awesome year for flagship phones, and most probably, these are the last of them before it all begins again in 2018. These might be the last, but we can say it was worth the wait. Both of these smartphones are powered by AI processor, along with a Neural Processing Unit (NPU). According to Huawei, NPU improves the efficiency and performance of AI-related tasks.
Nowadays, every smartphone manufacturing company is trying to stand out among their competitors. They introduce new features in their flagship phone or series, to attract more customers towards them. Every smartphone is using different spec package according to the price category of the model. It means you can get almost same specs across different smartphones of a different brand. That’s why to keep up with the others, it is important for smartphone manufacturers to be innovative.
To keep themselves in the race with the launch of their latest flagships, Huawei has introduced a new way to take screenshots. The screenshot is a pretty common feature and is used by almost every smartphone user. This is a very easy way to capture the image of your screen and its content, and then you can share it with your friends. The conventional way of taking a screenshot by pressing Volume Down key + Power key still works. But now, there is another, much easier way, to take screenshots on Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro.
How to Take a Smart Screenshot on Huawei Mate 10
Huawei is introducing the Knuckle screenshot with Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. It will be called as Smart Screenshot feature. With this feature, you just need to knock twice on your smartphone’s screen with your knuckle, and that’s it. This will capture the screenshot. This is a much better way to take a screenshot than the conventional method. Now you don’t need two hands to take a screenshot on Huawei Mate 10.
This is a pretty wonderful feature by Huawei. But to use this feature, the Smart Screenshot feature needs to be activated first. Here’s how to do it –
1. Open Settings and go to Smart Assistance.
2. Tap on Motion Control.
3. Here, enable Smart Screenshot by tapping once on it.
Now, you will be able to take a screenshot by just knocking twice on your Mate 10’s screen with your knuckle. Go ahead and try it. After knocking twice, you will see a confirmation notification that the screenshot has been captured.
Other ways to Take a Screenshot on Mate 10 / Pro
This is a new and innovative feature from Huawei to take a screenshot. But, if you are not interested in trying this new feature, there are other ways to take a screenshot as well. As I mentioned earlier, one way is to press and hold the Volume Down and Power key together.
The other way is introduced by Google Assistant. To take a screenshot with Google Assistant on your Huawei Mate 10 or Mate 10 Pro, you will just have to say the words and it will be done. Of course, before using Google Assistant to do anything, you will first have to set it up to respond to your voice. You can do this by going to Google Assistant settings from Google settings. Once you are ready, simply say “Okay Google, take a screenshot”. The Google Assistant will take the screenshot and it will ask you to edit or share the image with others. The Google Assistant won’t save the screenshot by itself. After taking the screenshot, you can select from the sharing options to save the image.
