GameStop’s website has revealed the release date for the first DLC pack for Star Wars Battlefront as well as new content for it. There will be four new maps, set amidst the factories of Sullust a Jabba the Hutt’s palace on Tatooine; a new mode, new weapons and two new playable heroes. But fans aren’t quite pleased with what’s coming.
Firstly, there’s the issue with the heroes this time around. Instead of prolific characters like Chewbacca or Yoda, DICE has instead added… Greedo (you’ll remember him as the one who shot first) and Sullustan rebel Nien Nunb. If you’re like me, you probably had to look up who Nunb is. That’s the problem.
The pack costs $15, and the game mode included in it is called Extraction, which essentially functions as a capture-the-flag type where the Rebels must deliver a resource shipment to their transport while the Empire tries to stop them. Considering the new game mode is the meat of the content, it’s somewhat disappointing fare for $15, according to many fans.
MoviePilot has compiled a few comments from IGN, that go to show fans’ disappointment with the upcoming DLC pack, ranging from frustration to sarcasm. My favourite being this one: “Man can’t wait for EA to announce the Man Standing in Background character DLC.”
