There is no denying that the Nintendo Switch is the hottest gaming console at the moment. During its initial release, Nintendo was reported to have sold more than two million units of the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, many experts still believe that it might suffer a slow initial uptake due to game availabilities. However, there is no doubt that once Nintendo has secured a good collection of games, the console will eventually pick up. And to make it even more interesting, perhaps the next sequel to the Star Wars game franchise, Star Wars Battlefront 2, will be one good addition to the said list.
Rumor has it that EA is currently planning on releasing the Star Wars Battlefront 2 game on the Nintendo Switch. According to reports, this rumor came about because the game developer is already in the process of making the Fifa 18 for the Switch. A number of Reddit users believed that the rumor is somehow true.
According to Game Pur, the upcoming Fifa 18 Switch game will be based on the Frostbite game engine. As many would know by now, Star Wars Battlefront is also made using the same game engine. Perhaps this is the main reason why many would think that EA will release the Star Wars Battlefront 2 game on the Nintendo Switch.
Officials from EA and Dice have confirmed that development on the next Star Wars game is already underway. However, they did not specify as to which platform it will go to. Rough guess will be for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 4 systems. Unfortunately, there are no confirmations if the said game will indeed be released on the Nintendo Switch. Nevertheless, the developers assured fans the upcoming sequel will be even bigger than before. EA and Dice also hinted that they will be taking some of the characters from the latest movie franchise to be included in the game.
Like with any other rumors, this one too should be taken with a grain of salt. While this rumor is exceptionally juicy, gamers can only wait before the end of the year for the game to be released on various gaming platforms.
