Sony has delayed the Marshmallow update for a lot of its Xperia devices, but thankfully, the company did not forget it completely. According to a YIBADA report, the Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, and Xperia Z2 have received the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. But if you are using the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, you will be disappointed to know that it hasn’t received the update yet.
The Xperia Blog reported that all the Sony Xperia Z2 phones with model number D6502 were receiving the update. Also, Xperia Z2 Tablet with model numbers SGP511, SGP512 and SGP521 had been updated to Marshmallow. Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633), Xperia Z3 Compact (D5833), and Xperia Z3 (D6646 and D6653) received the update too.
A report by Neurogadget tells us that the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update has been released for Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z4 Tablet. Even the Xperia Z4 Tablet (SPG712 and SGP771) has been updated. Some Z2, Z3, and Z3 Compact models had received the update earlier this month.
The Marshmallow update is 900 MB in size (approx) and should be available on your eligible Xperia device right now. In case the OTA update notification hasn’t reached your phone yet, you can check for the update manually in Settings> About Device> Check for Update. Do charge your device more than 50% and connect to a high-speed WiFi network before updating.
