Sony Xperia XA1 has made its way to the Indian market for a price tag of Rs. 19,990. This is the second smartphone Sony has released in India after the Sony Xperia XZs launch a couple of weeks ago. Just to recall, the Xperia XA1 was first spotted at MWC 2017 event in Barcelona earlier this year.
Sony Xperia XA1, the new mid-range offering
The all new Xperia XA1 is now available for purchase throughout the country in Sony’s brick and mortar stores. Users can also spot the handset on other prominent electronics like Croma and Reliance Digital. The Japanese OEM hasn’t tied up with any particular online retailer for the new smartphone. It’s interesting to note that even the Xperia XZs has gone on sale today only i.e. Tuesday.
Sony Xperia XA1 Specifications
For those who aren’t familiar, let’s quickly run through the Sony Xperia XA1 specs sheet again. The Xperia XA1 features a 5-inch HD 720p display with Corning Gorilla Glass sheet on top. It is powered by MediaTek Helio X20 chipset with 3 Gigs of RAM. Internal storage of Xperia XA1 stands at 32 GB with expandable capabilities of up to 200 Gigs via micro-SD expansion. It’s a dedicated dual-sim offering with Android 7.0 Nougat on board.
Coming to the camera department, Sony Xperia XA1 features a 23-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection, laser autofocus, and LED flash. And on the front, you will find an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens. Both the shooters are capable of recording 1080p videos.
The smartphone packs a 2300 mAh battery which seems a bit less than today’s standard, but with a 720p panel, we can expect decent results. Other notable features include Type-C port on the bottom, VoLTE, and quick charging. Sony Xperia XA1 features a polycarbonate shell with aluminum framing all around. It will come in three color variants of White, Black, and Pink.
