Better late than never – Sony has declared today the Xperia J1 Compact (D5788), company’s first SIM-free smartphone for the Japan. The SIM-free phone is much similar to the Sony Xperia A2 for NTT DoCoMo.
This Xperia J1 Compact sports a 4.3 inch 720p screen and is powered by a quad-core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, coupled with a 2GB of RAM. The phone packs a 20.7 megapixels Exmor RS rear camera, a 2.2 megapixel front camera and a 2,300mAh battery. The phone will run Android 4.4 KitKat upon launch.
The new Xperia phone comes with IP58-certification for dust and water resistance.
Pre-orders for the Sony Xperia J1 Compact starts on March 27, following the official launch on April 20th. The phone will cost 54,800 JPY +tax (approx. $454) and will be available in white and champagne color combination.
