Sony has announced two new cameras, including the latest flagship APS-C sensor camera with 4D FOCUS, a6500 (model ILCE-6500), featuring 425 phase-detection AF points. The other launch is new flagship compact camera in the Cyber-shot RX100 series Sony RX100 V (model DSC-RX100M5). It comes with 1.0-type CMOS sensor and fast Hybrid AF with speed of 0.05-second and 315 phase-detection AF points. The Sony a6500 is priced at US$ 1,400(approx. Rs. 93,415) and will be available in November in US. The Sony RX100 V compact camera costs US$ 1,000 (approx. Rs. 66,725) and will be available later this month.

The Sony a6500 features a 24.2 MP APS-C type (23.5 x 15.6 mm) 3:2 Exmor CMOS sensor with BIONZ X image processing engine. It uses 425 phase-detection AF points with High-density Tracking AF Technology and Fast Hybrid AF (phase-detection AF/contrast-detection AF) for stills and movies (0.05 sec). The new camera offers 11fps (Hi+) continuous shooting and 8fps (Hi) live-view continuous shooting. It comes with In-body 5-axis image stabilization. The new mirrorless camera can shoot in 4K resolution, and Full HD videos at up to 120fps.

The Sony a6500 comes with a 0.39 type (1.0 cm) XGA OLED XGA OLED electronic viewfinder, and a 2.95 in (3.0-type) wide TFT LCD Screen. Connectivity options include WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, micro HDMI. The camera is made of tough magnesium alloy. It comes with a dust and moisture resistant body along with a robust lens mount. The interchangeable lens camera supports Sony E-mount lenses. Other features include a built-in stereo microphone, 3.5mm Stereo jack, built-in flash, and multi-slot reader for Memory Stick Duo/SD memory card.

Sony a6500 APS-C Sensor Camera Announced Alongside Sony RX100 V

The Sony RX100 V sports a 20.1MP 1.0-type (0.52″ x 0.35″) 3:2 Exmor RS CMOS sensor with DRAM chip. The camera uses a dense, widespread 315-AF-point coverage and fast Hybrid AF (phase-detection AF/contrast-detection AF) (0.05 sec). It offers up to 960fps super slow motion shooting and super high-speed Anti-Distortion Shutter up to 1/32000 sec. The compact camera features a ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T lens with F1.8 aperture and 2.9x Optical Zoom (during movie recording). It allows smooth-tracking continuous shooting at up to 24fps.

The Sony RX100 V sports a 0.39-type electronic XGA OLED viewfinder and a 2.95-inch 180-degree tiltable LCD screen. Connectivity options include WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, micro HDMI. Other features include built-in flash and a multi-slot reader for Memory Stick Duo/SD memory card.
