The year 2016 ended on a high note in Seoul as the 2016 KBS Drama Awards concluded on December 31st, 2016. The glittery night was attended by many celebrities. Lead actors of many drama series graced the occasion. The Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) has instituted the KBS Drama Awards to recognize talent and outstanding achievements in Korean drama series aired on its network. Continuing the tradition, the 2016 KBS Drama Awards saw many awards given away to outstanding achievers.
The Descendants of the Sun stars Song Joong-ki and Song Hye Kyo won the Grand Prize at the 2016 KBS Drama Awards. Song Joong-ki, in his acceptance speech, thanked parents and his fans and acknowledged the help of Jin Goo. He was all praise for Song Hye Kyo when he said – “Usually, the woman should cry, but we’re reversed. I want to give her all this honor to my lovely partner, Song Hye Kyo.”
Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum Got Emotional
Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum got emotional at the 2016 KBS Drama Awards. Park Bo Gum won the Male Top Excellence Award at the event. The 23-year old actor thanked the Descendants of the Sun star during his acceptance speech. Park Bo Gum could not hide his tears when he won the award. “When I was working on ‘Moonlight Drawn by Clouds,’ I felt like I was very lacking. But I’m grateful to Song Joong Ki, who gave me advice every time”, the actor praised the Descendants of the Sun star. “He’s a very good senior actor at my company. I had a really hard time while I was filming this drama, and I couldn’t find a balance. Song Joong Ki understood that more than anyone else, and he gave me a lot of advice, so I wanted to say that I’m really grateful”, Park Bo Gum added. Hearing his words, Song Joong Ki also got emotional and said, “Park Bo Gum made me cry.”
