Microsoft provided all of the hardcore gamers with fantastic consoles such as Xbox, Xbox One and Xbox 360. They are leaping towards launching the most powerful and reliable console in the history of gaming. But they are still outmatched by the Software and technological advancement of Sony’s PlayStation 4. While the Xbox Offered more power and the Follow-up Xbox 360 gave PlayStation 3 a hard time, but PlayStation still proved its worth with better options.
We saw Microsoft’s Xbox One as the third major console by the company which was less powerful against the PlayStation 4. This resulted in Xbox One having a lot of problems such as low Frame Rates, various resolution issues, and other bugs as compared to the PlayStation 4.
However, this is all going to change because of the recent reveal of Project Scorpio specs. PlayStation 4 on a side, even Sony’s most recent console PlayStation 4 Pro is less powerful than the Project Scorpio. So, technically speaking, the gap between the Sony and Microsoft on the basis of innovation and more power is now bigger than ever before.
Xbox Scorpio is going to have some system-level advancements as compared to the PlayStation 4 Pro. Xbox Scorpio offers faster Frame Rates, Anisotropic Filtering, Supersampling, and less Load Time. Microsoft’s weak point here is that they are concentrating more on the hardware instead of the software that runs on the console. We know the Software is far more important than the hardware. So, this is where Microsoft could possibly get smashed if we compare it to the Sony’s latest console PlayStation 4 Pro.
Scorpio is possibly going to be retailing at $499 and it is undoubtedly way more powerful than the PlayStation 4 Pro, but here PC remains one of the best choices when it comes to a console this costly. Instead of paying $499 for a console, most of the players will certainly go for a PC rig by putting in a little more money. PC offers way more reliability and perks at the same time. While there are not much of the titles available on the console, PC seems a better choice because players will enjoy more games on PC than the Xbox Scorpio.
In addition, almost all of the games by Microsoft are set to arrive on PC this year. So if that happens as planned, Xbox Scorpio will become irrelevant for most of the players.
Xbox Scorpio on a side, the only true exclusive the made it to Xbox One was the Forza Horizon 3. Gears of War, Halo 5: Guardians proved worthwhile for a short time and they eventually faded away from the charts.
On the other hand, the PlayStation players were treated to a number of fantastic titles. The Titles include Persona 5, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Nier: Automata, Yakuza 0, Nioh, Bloodborne, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. This literally gave the PlayStation an upper hand over the Xbox. It also became Sony’s best strategy to rule the markets worldwide. So if Microsoft has fewer exclusives for the upcoming Xbox Scorpio, it might fail to impress a larger audience.
So, technically, the software side of PlayStation is still having an advantage over the Xbox Scorpio. Keep in mind that no Exclusives have got official announcement for the console. On the E3 gaming expo, it’s possible that Microsoft will unveil some exclusives, but to be honest, it’s not much. It’s not that the Xbox Scorpio is completely going to fail to impress. Microsoft does have plans to release exclusives on the console, but that will definitely take time. Hopefully, with the launch of the Xbox Scorpio, Microsoft will be able to satisfy the users with a good number of games playable on Xbox Scorpio. If not, then there are chances that Xbox Scorpio will fall to an untreatable demise.
Pc’s can surely be a great platform for a lot of users to enjoy PlayStation games. But the titles coming out with the Scorpio can really make a big difference. People would love to see games such as God of War and The Last of Us on Xbox Scorpio. However, this is all just not more that a speculation.
In reality, all these games are available on PS4 and most of these games will not be available on Scorpio. So to meet the possibly huge demands, Microsoft need adding up a little bit more titles to Scorpio games lists.
This is actually what possibly could go wrong for Microsoft. And it can possibly be a great factor if Xbox Scorpio gets the lowering sales and less revenue.
Xbox Scorpio is no doubt going to resolve a lot of issues along with the Xbox‘s hardware. If Microsoft wants to keep the fans from possible disappointment, they must strengthen their software side as well.
