Based on a latest report from the Wall Street Journal, Samsung is expanding the Tizen Applications store to more countries world-wide. Currently, the only Tizen-based smartphone Samsung Z1 is accessible in India and Bangladesh only but the App Store is now reaching to 182 countries including UK, US, and China. Currently the Tizen App store is offering only free apps in the new countries.
The Korean giant launched Z1 smartphone in India back in Jaunary for the price of INR 5,700 to compete the Chinese companies like Xiaomi and OnePlus those are offering the handsets at very affordable prices. Moreover, the step to increase the availability of Tizen smartphones will reduce the dependency of Google’s Android operating system.
Samsung has also made available several smartwatches that run with Tizen and has also confirmed that all the Samsung smart TVs will run Tizen.
