Samsung today finally released its much-awaited flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy Note7 at a price of Rs. 59,900 in India. However, as the custom goes, the Galaxy Note 7 wasn’t the only device to be launched by the South Korean tech giant today. Samsung launched its new wireless earphones Samsung IconX, its latest fitness tracker Gear Fit 2 and its latest Gear VR headset along with the Note 7.
Out of these three accessories, the one which caught most of my attention was the Samsung IconX. The IconX is a wireless is a wireless headset and probably Samsung’s first foray into this genre. The IconX comes with different-sized ear tips and wingtips. The most remarkable feature of these earphones is its ability to track the fitness details of the wearer and provide the feedback. The IconX carries a hefty price tag of Rs. 13,490 and will go on sale at the end of this month.
Samsung also launched its new Gear VR Headset which now comes with a dedicated home button. The new Virtual Reality headset supports both USB Type-C and Micro USB ports and offers a large field of view up to 101 degrees. The new Gear VR headset sports sensors like accelerometer, gyro meter, and proximity sensors. The new Gear VR headset is compatible with tonnes of high-end Samsung smartphones apart from the Galaxy Note7 like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7, Note5, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy S6. The device weighs 345 grams and will be made available in a Blue Black colour variant at a cost of Rs. 7,290 starting the first week of September.
The third wearable to be launched along with the Galaxy Note 7 is the Samsung Gear Fit 2. This new fitness tracker from Samsung comes with huge improvements over its predecessor and sports many cool new features like an inbuilt GPS sensor and a heart-rate monitor. The device even comes with automatic activity tracking so you don’t need to manually activate it every time. This fitness band can very effectively track your various motions like running, cycling, walking or even rowing machines. The Samsung Gear Fit 2 has been priced Rs. 13,990 and will go on sale commencing the end of this month.
