The new Samsung Gear S3 was unveiled during the IFA 2016. However, there was no information about the release date. Now, the new Samsung smartwatch is expected to be released by early November. Pre-orders for the same are currently available at Best Buy Canada.
You can go to the Best Buy Canada’s website to place ore-orders for both, the Gear S3 classic and Gear S3 frontier. The Best Buy Canada has listed November 18 as the release date of the new smartwatch. Both versions are priced at $469.99 CAD (approx. US $358) on the website.
As of now, the pre-orders can only be placed online via the website. You will not be able to reserve a wearable device from a physical Best Buy Canada store. You can apple the coupon code “WTPREORDER” when checking out, to get 10% discount. Shipping is expected to start from November 19th. However, it might not delayed too.
The new Samsung Gear S3 sports a 1.3-inch Super AMOLED display with Corning’s new Gorilla Glass SR+. While the Gear S3 classic has a 12.9mm streamlined designed, the Gear S3 frontier features a more sporty design. Both versions come with an optical heart rate sensor, and IP86 certification [water and dust resistance].
The new smartwatch is powered by a 1.0 GHz dual-core CPU along with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. Both versions run on Tizen 2.3.2 OS. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity and GPS.
The new Samsung Gear was announced to feature 4G LTE connectivity and NFC to allow users to make payments via Samsung Pay. However, the pre-order variants are not expected to include these two features. The Samsung Gear S3 is backed by a 380mAh battery which claims to last three-to-four days on a single battery charge. Both versions come with wireless charging support.
