The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones have started receiving a new update in India. The new update brings stability, performance improvements and features such as Wi-Fi Calling, etc. The new update for the S7 and S7 Edge is now available via OTA. It also includes September Android security update.

Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge Start Receiving Update in India

As per user reports, the new update is rolling out quite steadily. It can be expected to be available to all users in India by end of the week. For both the smartphones, the update is less than 150MB in size.

You can manually check for the update on your smartphone via Settings >> About Phone >> System Update. The new update comes with software build G930FXXU1BPIO and G935FXXU1BPIO for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, respectively.

For both the smartphones, the new software update brings stability improvements, bug fixes, and new enhanced features. As per the update release notes, it also improves the performance of flagship devices. However, the highlight of the new update is the addition of Wi-Fi calling support. Additionally, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will also get September Android security update.

Earlier this year, Samsung had dropped the prices the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in India. Now, the update makes the flagship smartphones quite a catch. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge were launched in India at Rs. 48,900 and Rs. 56,900 respectively.Both smartphones received price cuts of Rs. 5,000 each from their launch prices. The Samsung Galaxy S7 [32GB variant] is now available at Rs. 43,400 in India, while the Galaxy S7 Edge [32GB variant] is priced at Rs. 50,900.
