Most smartphones are already receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat OS update. For the smartphones that haven’t received Android 7.0 Nougat update so far, manufacturers have already announced the roll-out time-frame for these devices. Samsung users eagerly waiting for Android 7.0 Nougat official update have something to cheer about. A recent certification from Wi-Fi Alliance is a strong indicator that Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and S6 Edge Plus will soon get Android 7.0 Nougat update.
Samsung Device running latest Android Version spotted
Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have already started receiving Android 7.0 Nougat update. Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge Plus users need not be disappointed because a Samsung model that goes by number SM-G920V has been spotted running 7.0 Nougat version of Android. The code name, in all likelihood, refers to Galaxy S6 model on Verizon. Now that Galaxy S6 has received Wi-Fi Alliance’s certification, it’s apparent that Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and S6 Edge Plus will soon receive the official update.

Samsung has already announced the list of devices that will be eligible for Android Nougat 7.0 update. Apart from Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge which have already started receiving the update, Galaxy S7 Active, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy A3, Galaxy A8, Galaxy Tab A, Galaxy Tab S2 (LTE unlocked) are also part of the list.

The Wi-Fi Alliance certification in itself does not exclusively mention Galaxy S6 Edge but considering the way Samsung has been rolling out the updates, the Edge line of devices are very likely to receive the update. The S6 variant mentioned in the certification is from Verizon – a carrier variant. The upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat roll-out will not be exclusive to this variant alone – it’ll be available for all Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and S6 Edge Plus devices.
