It’s a good start to the week for the Canadian residents with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus. All major carriers in the country are seeding the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the said devices. The list of telecom operators includes Virgin, Videotron, Bell, Koodo mobile, Sasktel, and Telus.
Just a few days ago, Verizon rolled out the Android Nougat firmware to the same Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus smartphones.
As for the build number is concerned, the Galaxy Note 5 is receiving the N920W8VLU4CQC9 build and the Galaxy S6 Edge is getting N920W8VLU4CQC9. Both the updates shall include the latest security patch, however, we weren’t able to confirm the same.
The latest software release of Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus is around 1 GB in size, so make sure you enough space to download the update. Also, it’s recommended to have at least 50% battery juice before proceeding with the update. You will receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update notification in the next few days, but you can also check for the same manually by diving into Settings >> Software Update.
For those who don’t know, Android 7.0 Nougat is quite a big update for smartphones as it brings the latest official OS with a lot of new features. For example, the latest release includes Multi-windows, improved doze and much more.
