Just as expected, Samsung has introduced the 2017 editions of Samsung Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 in India. The new Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) were announced at CES 2017, and aim to offer tough competition in the premium mid-range smartphone segment. Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) have been priced at Rs. 28,990 and Rs. 33,490 respectively. Both will go on sale starting March 15 via both online and offline channels.
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) Specs
It’s good to run through the specs of both the smartphone now. The smaller one, Galaxy A5 (2017) houses a 5.2-Inch Full HD Super AMOLED display powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7880 Octa-Core processor and 3 Gigs of RAM. Internal storage of Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) stands at 32 GB with expandable capabilities of up to 256 Gigs via micro-SD card. It’s a dual-sim device with a dedicated slot for memory card.
Camera department of the A5 (2017) smartphone comprises of two 16 MP units, one on the back and one on the front. The handset is IP68 Certified: dust/water proof over 1.5 meters and 30 minutes. All this is powered by a 3000 mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) Specs
Samsung Galaxy A7 is the bigger sibling of the two. It sports a bigger 5.7-Inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. This one too is powered by the same Exynos 7780 Octa-Core chipset and 3 Gigs of RAM. Internal storage stands at 32 GB which is further expandable via micro-SD card.
As for the camera, this one too shares the same 16 MP units on back and front. However, Galaxy A7 (2017) houses a bigger 3600 mAh battery.
Android 7.0 Nougat will run on top of both the smartphones.
Overall, Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 2017 editions are great offerings from the Korean manufacturer and will offer tough competition to the like of OnePlus 3T and other premium mid-rangers. The smartphone will be available in two colors: Black Sky and Gold Sand.
