First cast as the fictional British secret agent James Bond in Casino Royale, Daniel Craig continued the James Bond tradition with three more movies, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre. The next title in the James Bond series may not see Daniel Craig as the lead actor anymore. Ryan Gosling – the Canadian actor and musician – best known for his role in the romantic drama The Notebook is likely to become the next James Bond.
Ryan Gosling To Replace Daniel Craig?
James Bond fans don’t have to wait until 2018 for the premiere. Although initial speculations hinted at a 2018 premiere, it looks like the movie will release sooner than expected. The production team of the next installment of the spy movie has already chosen a premiere date for the film. After Daniel Craig announced his retirement from playing the character of James Bond, fans have been providing their own suggestions about who can replace his role. Several actors have been considered as potential replacements for Daniel Craig, including Aidan Turner, Scott Adkins, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Jackman. The latest addition to this list is none other than The Notebook star – Ryan Gosling. It looks like Ryan brings in all the credentials, the aura, the charisma and the vibe the 007 character needs. But no official announcement has been made so far as to who will portray the character of James Bond in the next movie.
Ian Fleming Under Criticism For Plagiarizing James Bond
Ian Fleming, the English author, journalist and naval intelligence office best known for his James Bond series of spy novels, is now being criticized for plagiarizing James Bond character. A female novelist named Phyllis Bottome introduced a character called Mark Chalmers in her book The Life Line, originally published in 1946. James Bond’s character in Ian Fleming’s novel bears striking resemblance to Mark Chalmer’s – “a 36-year-old, dark-haired master at Eton who is signed up to work for British intelligence by a friend, Reggie, who works at the Foreign Office”. This was brought to light by BBC Radio 4’s documentary titled “The Woman Who Invented James Bond”. The book isn’t in print anymore but the documentary suggests that it could have planted the seed for James Bond as we know today. So, does that mean Ian Fleming plagiarized Marke Chalmers character and turned it into James Bond? Or was he just using it as an inspiration?
