PS4 Pro would be able to do 1080p and 60fps, which most seem to prefer, and not JUST “4K” 30fps. Recent gameplay videos of Rise Of The Tomb Raider on the PS4 Pro just proves our point and we’re happy to see it. While some games may need that visual boost, the choices being given is wonderful.

Is Rise Of The Tomb Raider on the PS4 Pro worth it?

The PS4 Pro is still bottlenecked by that hideous CPU so no it can’t do 60 fps anywhere except for some of the caves and possibly some more closed areas because this game is CPU bound in ALOT of places. When the devs themselves use wording like “up to” 60 fps you can expect fps more in the 40 fps mark. Players have already experience this with the PC version and know what it takes to drive a constant 60 fps and the PS4 Pro is NOT up to it.

And when talking about the “enriched” mode, yeah there is gonna be a lot of visual bugs with the foliage and shadows. The LOD settings are busted and the foliage flickers a lot if turning it up above the standard quality. Could be fixable with a patch, who knows, but we know it gapped on all PCs if you look for it. Seems a lot of the options above high where just tacked on and not tested enough but of course, everybody is like “OMG those graphics! I have to get this!” Our advice: if you’re looking for a cinematic experience then do otherwise this Rise of The Tomb Raider PS4 Pro patch is worth your time.
