The Xiaomi Redmi 2A has been a hit-seller for the company, not for its specs, but for the $78 price, that doesn’t leave holes in its users pockets. And because the company sold over 10 million units, they decided to enhance the device. One of Xiaomi’s founders, namely Lei Jun, said that to offer the best user experience a smartphone must have at least 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, compared to the 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage the device is offering presently.
As you already figured, the enhanced version will feature 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. And what’s great is the fact that the price will be unchanged. According to PhoneArena, the enhanced version will be released in China this Wednesday, on November 11. And due to the fact that the holiday shopping season is closing in on us, we except it to be sold out in a flash.
The current Xiaomi Redmi 2A carries a 4.7-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280, with a pixel density of 312ppi. Running the device is Leadcore LC1860 SoC, with a quad-core 1.5GHz CPU. The handset also features a dual-SIM slot, a 8MP back camera, and a 2MP front one especially for selfies and video chats. Its battery has a capacity of 2200mAh.
