Samsung has apparently decided to move on to its “J” family after its “A” line was updated for 2016. The Galaxy J1 (2016) is now available in Dubai and we are expecting the J5 and J7 shortly. The existence of J7 has been proven by some kernel sources that were spotted recently for the Galaxy A9 where the new device carries the codename “J7XLTE”.

The revealed code has some clues to what specifications the new phone might have which include, but not limited to, the following; Full HD Panel, a size of 5.5 inches display, Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, Snapdragon 650 SoC (previously known as the SD 618), 13 MP primary camera with Samsung S5K3L2XX sensor, 5 MP secondary camera with Samsung S5K5E3YX sensor and 1.1µm pixels, paired with a 23mm f/2.2 lens.
