Windows Mobile fans have been waiting for quite a bit now for the release of the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update on the various Windows smartphones. Much to everyone’s pleasure, HP is soon going to roll out the Anniversary Update for its latest Windows smartphone HP Elite x3.
While answering the frequently answered questions (FAQs), HP revealed that the much awaited Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update will be rolled out for the HP Elite x3 on September 13. This is just a day after the Elite x3 hit the stores in US. The Anniversary Update will bring a tonne of new features and various bug fixes on the Elite x3. A new feature called the Windows Information Protection will come incorporated with this Windows update. The Windows Information Protection will offer ways to protect your data and prevent it from any leakage. It will allow users to block, log, or alert any attempt to inappropriately copy, paste, open, or save encrypted data.
In a official statement, HP said, “Windows Information Protection (WIP), formerly known as Enterprise data protection (EDP), is available with the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update (available on or about September 13, 2016) provides data separation and containment and is designed to safeguard personal information and prevent data leakage.Unlike most other solutions on the market, Windows 10 Mobile data protection will not disrupt your experience. In fact, no separate container or folder login will be required with WIP. Instead, protection technology will be embedded natively in the mobile platform, which will automatically encrypt data that comes from corporate sources. Corporate policy will have the ability to be set to block, log, or alert any attempt to inappropriately copy, paste, open, or save encrypted data.”
The Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update will also bring many more new features and fixes apart from this Windows Information Protection. The Elite x3 was complained to take a lot of time for registering SIM cards or in turning Off. These issues have been apparently fixed in this update.
The update is releasing very soon and in the meanwhile, you can install the latest Redstone 2 builds on your device, but do remember that it is still not supported by the Windows Device Recovery Tool yet, so we would advise some patience. We’ll let you know as soon as the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary build is out for the HP Elite x3. Till then, stay tuned.
