It seems that playing Pokemon Go is becoming dangerous day by day as a truck driver has killed a woman in Japan while playing Pokemon Go.
According to The Verge, the driver who killed the woman was distracted by Pokemon Go. Local police stated that the driver, a 30-year-old farmer, didn’t notice the two women crossing the road and he ran over both of them because he was busy playing Pokemon Go. One woman, who had an age of around 70, died on the spot because of a broken neck, while the other one suffered serious injuries including a broken hip. This is the very first fatal accident caused because of Pokemon Go in Japan.
Japan’s National Police Agency stated that this was the 79th Pokemon Go related accident in Japan since the game launched there. Also, more than 1,000 people have been seriously injured while playing Pokemon Go, and majority of them were driving while playing the game.
Pokemon Go was launched in Japan a few weeks after it was released in the US. The government of Japan was kind of aware how dangerous this game can be, so they issued various pamphlets on which warnings regarding the game were written, i.e not to visit dangerous areas, not to play it while driving etc. We also reported some time ago that Pokemon Go was becoming dangerous for kids.
