PlayStation Plus Free Games October – Resident Evil HD Remaster
There is no doubt about it. Sometimes you go back to an old game you used to love. Start playing it and you realize maybe it wasn’t as good as you thought it was. Nostalgia is a powerful thing. As it happens however, 2002’s Resident Evil Remake holds up really well. And Resident Evil HD is here to prove it. It does a great job of looking like how you remembered it looking.
The reason that’s important is because the way you remembered it is almost always better than it really looks. New textures, new lighting and other nifty tweaks don’t make the game look like a modern game exactly. But it does look like an older game through our modern eyes.
Transformers Devastation
Just 10 minutes into Transformer Devastation, you’re in a fist fight with a monstrous Devastator. This and the other epic boss battles are lovingly authentic to the 80s Transformers TV shows and movies. Right down to the original voice actors and rocking power ballads wailing in the background. But the appeal of this Transformers game isn’t solely pre-Michael Bay nostalgia.
Devastation does a good job of transforming our favorite robots in disguise into a fun and energetic action game. The polished cell-shaded look of the game characters lends the game a cartoonish feel that appeals to nostalgia.
