No one can disagree with the fact that virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) industries are the new cool. There is vast scope in this industry and many giants have already started capitalising on this industry.
Annual Vision Summit 2016 was recently held. It featured a lot of conferences aimed at industry professionals in the virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) industries. Some big names in this industry were spotted at the event and the future of VR and AR was discussed in detail at the event by the speakers.
Dr. Richard Marks, Director of the PlayStation Magic Lab, Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE), during his keynote speak has said that PlayStation 4 is all set for virtual reality (VR). Developments are already under way to bring the VR to the PS4.
Marks further added, “All PS4 owners are ready for VR”. Marks said that the PS4 users won’t be required to purchase any other hardware except the PlayStation VR headset. There is no doubt that if SCE brings the VR headset, then it will have thousands of buyers among the millions of PS4 owners. This will give it a great advantage over the rivals like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Users will definitely prefer to buy PlayStation VR headset over these counterparts which require PCs with great configurations to run the head-mounted displays (HMDs) properly. If the PlayStation VR headsets come at a good price, then there is no doubt that it will surely make its presence dominant in this field.
Until now, we have just heard rumours and nothing has been officially announced yet. We seriously hope that the SCE will bring its PS4 VR device soon.
