OnePlus One users can celebrate as the eagerly-awaited Oxygen OS build is now officially available. The update package can be downloaded from the company’s official website and flashed on the OnePlus One handset.
The custom Android-based ROM had a bumpy and long journey, but something is for sure, it’s come an extended way thanks to the love and awareness to detail of the straggly OnePlus community. What initially started out as an escape strategy from CyanogenMod, has been build up, despite many delays, into what’s now a working Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, complete with an array of custom attributes, carefully chosen by the community.
Oxygen OS is built across the ideal of open source and offering an almost pure-stock Android encounter, customization features, custom gestures and highly optimized for the OnePlus One hardware, crafter with great focus.
The build couldn’t manage to fulfill the deadline on March 27, largely because of issues with Google certification. Ever since that time, the OnePlus team continues to be giving status updates as well as gifting handsets to compensate for the delay. Thankfully, the Oxygen OS is now fully certified and will soon be available for OTA update.
