OnePlus is all set to launch an upgraded version of its OnePlus 3 smartphone – the OnePlus 3T – this month. The smartphone will launch on November 14 in London. When OnePlus launched its first flagship killer – the OnePlus One – the demand was so high that the company had a tough time managing delivery even with the invite-only system. The OnePlus One won many awards for being the true flagship killer. And then the wave of flagship killers continued when the company launched OnePlus 2 and OnePlus 3 phones.
The OnePlus 3 is still the flagship killer – no other smartphone offers the features of OnePlus 3 at such a low price. But OnePlus wants to stay ahead by releasing yet another flagship killer before it steps into the new year. The OnePlus 3T, the successor of OnePlus 3, has stunning specs and a great build. The OnePlus 3T will differ from OnePlus 3 in 5 primary aspects –
1. Processor – The Snapdragon 821
OnePlus 3T will sport the new Snapdragon 821 chipset (the OnePlus 3 features a Snapdragon 820 chipset). The Snapdragon 821 is fabricated using 14nm tech and has the same number of cores as the 820 but is clocked faster. Running at 2.4GHz the 821 is faster than 820. The GPU clocks at 650MHz, 26MHz more than the OnePlus 3 GPU. The new processor is power-efficient and will deliver better battery life.
2. 16MP Camera
OnePlus 3T, if rumors are to be believed, will sport the Sony IMX398 sensor for its 16MP primary camera. The new camera sensor has improved low-light performance and dual-core autofocus, which is specifically designed for focusing on moving objects.
3. OS – Android Nougat Straight Out Of The Box
The OnPlus 3T will come with Android Nougat by default. The phone will likely run Oxygen OS (developed by OnePlus) based on Android Nougat. OnePlus 3 is yet to get the Android Nougat update. So if you wait for a few more days, you can as well buy the OnePlus 3T instead of OnePlus 3. You will get Android Nougat straight out of the box.
4. Daydream VR Compatible
The Snapdragon 821 supports Daydream and there’s no reason why OnePlus wouldn’t make OnePlus 3T compatible with Google’s Daydream VR platform. Although not as popular as Augmented Reality (remember the world-wide phenomenon created by Pokemon Go?), Virtual Reality is gaining steady ground and is gradually making inroads in our day-to-day lives. So it’s quite obvious that OnePlus 3T will be compatible with Daydream VR platform.
5. Higher Price
If you are planning to buy OnePlus 3T, be prepared to shell out $80 more. The OnePlus 3T will cost you around $480 which is $80 more than what OnePlus 3 costs. Even at $480, it’s worth the money. No other manufacturer offers the specs OnePlus 3T will offer at that price. So it’s still a good deal.
So are you planning on buying the OnePlus 3? Or do you wish to wait for a few more days and buy the next flagship killer instead? Post your thoughts in the comments section.
